Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Here's the recipe for a comforting drink when the cold weather sets in, with the autumnal flavours of pumpkin and cinnamon...
This drink is quite simple to make, but you will need some time as the pumpkin spice syrup is homemade!
What you'll need for the pumpkin spice syrup (≈200ml) :- 75g pumpkin purée (homemade or tinned)
- 175g water
- 200g sugar
- 2 teaspoons of spices (1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon ginger)
In a saucepan, add all ingredients and heat over low heat. When a slight boil appears, cook for about ten minutes and then remove from the heat. Pour into a sterilised airtight container and store in the fridge once cooled.
This syrup will keep in the fridge for several weeks.
What you will need for 1 pumpkin spice latte :
- 1 espresso shot (around 20ml)
- 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice syrup
- milk of your choice (around 100ml)
- cinnamon (optional)
You can use 2 espresso shots if you prefer a stronger drink like flat white
STEP 1 :
In a large glass, add 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice syrup (or more...)
STEP 2 :
Run your espresso shot through your coffee machine and pour it into the glass
STEP 3 :
Use the steam wand on your coffee machine (or a milk frother) to froth your milk. Make sure you create a swirl and do not put too much air into the milk to obtain a firm and silky foam. (Be careful not to burn the milk!)
STEP 4 :
Gently pour the hot milk in circles to mix it with the syrup and espresso and finish with a nice latte art!
STEP 5 :
Add a dash of cinnamon on top (optional) and enjoy a delicious comforting drink perfect for the cold weather...
Enjoy !
