MAPLE SYRUP & APRICOT
A sweet coffee with creamy notes like caramel and maple syrup and soft notes of apricots and raspberries.
ORIGIN: Rwanda
PRODUCER: Bugoyi Washing Station - Emmanuel Rusatira
REGION: Rutsiro, Western Province
GROWING ALTITUDE: 1500 - 1900 m.
VARIETAL: Red Bourbon (100% specialty grade arabica)
PROCESS: Washed
ROAST PROFILE: Medium (espresso roast).
Nestled in the mountains, with the shores of Lake Kivu a few hundred meters away, this beautiful washing station benefits from a gentle lake breeze which ensures a much longer average drying time and fermentation process, so more pronounced flavours and acidity.
Farmers in Rwanda have small coffee plots, and it's hard for them to commercialize coffee at small scale. Emmanuel Rusatira, the owner of the washing station, strives to incentivize high-quality coffee production with better prices and support for farmers seeking to improve the quality of their harvest.
You can expect a myriad of flavours from this very clean washed coffee, going from creamy notes of maple syrup and caramel, to soft fruity notes of apricot, raspberries, apple and black current.
We hope you will enjoy this coffee as much as we do!
