The Jaguara farm belongs to Andre Luiz Garcia, an agronomist, and his wife Natalia Moreira and son. The name of the farm is due to an important Quilombola community surrounding the farm, named Jaguara. It is situated next to Sao Joao del Rei, a very important historic town, and with a predominance of mountains at high altitudes the coffee trees have adapted very well.
At Jaguara they pay a lot of attention to sustainable practices, technologies that cause low impacts on the environment and social benefits for their workers.
The coffee beans are naturally processed, which gives a sweeter taste thanks to the sugar migration from the pulp into the beans. The beans are picked when evenly ripe, and hand sorted before drying on the patio on raised beds.
