GRINDING YOUR COFFEE BEANS AT HOME?
Did you know that grinding your coffee beans at home instead of buying pre ground coffee, makes a huge difference in the quality of your cup?
Oxygen is the biggest enemy of coffee, once a coffee has been roasted, it gets oxidized when exposed to oxygen and loses all its flavours and aroma's. Same for a fresh apple that you would slice and leave in your kitchen for days before eating it...
From the moment coffee beans are ground, the oxidation process accelerates and you start losing freshness.
So if you can, always buy freshly roasted whole beans and grind them as close to the brewing as possible and just the amount needed.

As a general rule to grind your coffee, we recommend the following.
Espresso: like soft sugar
Aeropress: like table salt
Filter V60/chemex: like rough sugar
The coffee/water ratio also depends from the brewing method, but as a starting point you can use a ratio of 1:15, for every 1 gram of coffee, use 15 grams of water, and experiment by tweaking these.
