BREW TIME
1:45 minutes
STEP 1
Bring water to boil to 89°C. Weigh out 17 grams of whole bean coffee. Grind to a texture slightly finer than sea salt.
STEP 2
Insert the paper filter in the Aeropress's plastic cap and rinse it with the hot water to get rid of the papery taste.
STEP 3
Assemble your Aeropress and place it on your scale and tare the weight. The numbers should appear upside-down. Add your ground coffee.
STEP 4
Start your timer and quickly pour the hot water into the Aeropress until it reaches 220 grams. We use a water to coffee ratio of 13:1, for every 1 gram of coffee, use 13 grams of water. But of course, don't hesitate to play with the ratio's and adapt according to your personal preference.
STEP 5
Wait 40 sec and then stir the coffee gently a couple of times. Then fasten the plastic cap, ensuring it locks tightly.
STEP 6
After 1:45 minutes, flip the Aeropress in one smooth movement atop your cup. The numbers are now readible. Start slowly pushing down for 20 seconds, until you hear a hissing sound. This means there is no more water to push trough the aeropress.
STEP 7
Unscrew the cap and pop out the filter and puck by pushing the aeropress until the end.
Pour your coffee in a cup and enjoy!
